Air Doctor, the global startup bridging the gap between travelers and local doctors worldwide, is thrilled to be mentioned, for the third time consecutively, in the 2022 InsurTech100 list – a listing of the world’s most innovative InsurTech companies. The prestigious list is announced by FinTech Global and recognises innovators and disruptors developing solutions to tackle challenges and improve experiences in the insurance landscape.
Jenny Cohen Derfler, Air Doctor CEO and Founder said, “We are delighted to be mentioned as finalists in the InsurTech100 list again. With Air Doctor, it means there are fewer travelers who will feel stranded if they fall ill abroad, and these travelers can access quality medical care from anywhere. While we’re already operating in 75 countries, we’re always working to expand our network, and it’s incredible knowing that other organizations are seeing the value in our platform.”
The InsurTech industry has seen immense growth in the last two years, despite multiple challenges. With a recent report indicating that InsurTech startups have still attracted $43 billion in investment between 2016 and 2022, it’s set to stay a multi-billion dollar market. And as the post-pandemic-era looms and digitalization continues to permeate, the insurance industry is seeing more and more value in partnering with startups like Air Doctor, to meet customers demands and remain relevant.
As a result, this year’s process of narrowing down the list to identify the leading 100 InsurTechs, was even more competitive than previous years. A panel of industry experts and analysts voted from a longlist of over 1,800 companies produced by FinTech Global. And the InsurTechs that made the cut were recognised for their innovative use of technology to solve a significant industry problem, or to generate efficiency improvements across the insurance value chain.
Startups like Air Doctor benefit the entire travel health ecosystem – from the insurance provider, to the medical professional, and of course, the customer. Being featured on the InsurTech100 list essentially means: these are the companies that every leader in the insurance industry needs to know about when contemplating and creating their new customer propositions and digital transformation strategies.
As 2022 draws to a close, it cannot be disputed that more and more customers are seeking out services like Air Doctor. And the InsurTech continues to succeed by keeping not only customer’s needs at the forefront, but also the needs of insurance providers who want to innovate and evolve their offerings.
From its ongoing Ukraine Inititative (providing Ukrainian citizens with free medical assistance) to its recognition on an industry level (taking home this year’s second DIAmond Award), as well as securing $20M in funding this year in a round led by Lightspeed Capital, Air Doctor will continue to do what it does best: ensure travelers can access medical care from anywhere, and innovate the industry.
